Essential Functions and Objectives:
Position is responsible for review and audit of Accounts Payable invoices and employee reimbursements on Denver Public Schools policies and procedures. Position requires a basic understanding of Sox Compliance, Best Practice and IRS Regulation.  Position requires knowledge of full-cycle Accounts Payable, basic of accounting principles, intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.  Excellent communication and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with both internal and external customers. 
- Ability to use critical thinking skills to determine and/or review all incoming invoices and employee reimbursements for correct information and any necessary supporting documentation, completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Review all incoming invoices and employee reimbursements for accurate account coding and approval and/or PO number is provided on each invoice before batching for processing.
- Resolve discrepancies and problems regarding invoices and employee reimbursements.
- Prepare and review batches for posting to Lawson.
- Booking of wire transfer requests and ensure accuracy and completion of wires.
- Serve as liaison between departments and vendors in the resolution of administrative problems and inquiries.
- Work closely with the Strategic Sourcing team to resolve invoice issues and make process improvements as necessary.
- Research problem invoices, past due amounts, and credits.
- Audit entered invoice batches.
- Maintain error log and number of received invoices.
- Maintain share point site.
- Release all invoices daily after audit of entered  invoices is complete.
- Manually run MA126 report as needed.
- Perform and audit daily and weekly uploads and interfaces.
- Assist in in documentation of AP procedures and processes – to meet completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Maintains both the integrity and confidentiality of all data, research and analysis, as directed.
- Performs miscellaneous filing, accounting and job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
- Four (4) years of Accounts Payable experience required.
- Strong analytical skills with familiarity with accounting, financial analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally.
- Ability to work with people at all levels within the District and the community.
- Ability to identify and implement improved processes.
- Strong research skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Superior customer service and customer support.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated proficiency with other Microsoft Office products (Power Point, Word, Outlook).
- Self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Passion for and experience in Continuous Improvement.
Education Requirements:
- Associates degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
