 What You'll Do:

  • Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Denver Public Schools Safety Program

  • Identify and discuss with the safety manager on compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits

  • Advises the safety manager on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions

  • Plans and assists in training for employees in work site safety practices

  • Maintains safety files and records including site safety audits and follow up reports

  • Performs site safety surveys and inspections of DPS facility buildings and playgrounds, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented

  • Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs

  • Prepare relevant safety presentations for department meetings

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 What You’ll Need:

  • High School Diploma/GED required

  • Associates Degree preferred

  • Three years of safety, health, and construction related safety industry experience.

  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
